NBA player falls for Utah 🏔️

There’s a narrative that players don’t really want to be in Utah.

I wanted to tell the opposite story. I joined John Tonje on a road trip across the state. Out to the red rocks of Moab, into remote towns where he met kids and played pickup with them, through the mountains and views that make this state what it is.

Through the week, John genuinely fell for Utah. The landscape, the people, the community.

This is one of the pieces I’m proudest of, because it flipped a narrative and made fans feel something real about the place they call home.
